I bought a new chain for my Z400 about 6 months ago. cant you take a link out of the chains when they stetch and when the chain adjustmnent is maxd out. Dont you just adjust the chain adjustment all the way forward to fit the chain after a link is taken from it?

do you have the tool to press out the links?
they make the job ALOT easier, what you need to do is take the chain off the bike, carefully use a grinder to grind the head off of one of the links and usethe yool to pess the pins out. if you dont have th tool though you can probably just put it into a vice and use a punch.

OK.. I have the chain taken apart , but left if on the sprockets and just folded back the master link to see how it look fits, and the chain isnt long enough with a link removed. ( chain adjuster is moved back forward to fit a shortened chain) and wtf?

Yeah, If it is the stock chain, most of the time you have to break them off, then you can put it back together with a master link.
