I take it you haven't ridden one.I agree it doesn't have the acceleration of my 400 ex,but not much difference in handling in tight woods just a little nose heavy.But it is very fun to ride.

if your saying all thats not sporty where do you qualify the kfx700??? auto, shaft drive, pretty dang heavy, but it will absolutely kill your poor little 250x and i would put money on the wolverine 450 beating you too. you guys need to stop ruining threads keep comments like that to yourself

i have one and i love it. i would have to say it depends on the type of riding you do. if you do a lot of trails, or a good mix of different riding it's a great bike. if your looking for a super fast track bike you might want to look else were. i do a lot of trail riding but i also take it on the tracks every so often. i can get some decent air but if i push it to hard it will bottom out the suspension. the fastest iv'e gotten it is 51 mph on the road. i don't think it had to much more. i've had it in mud up to the fenders and have not gotten it stuck. the worst so far i've had to rock it a little to get it moving but it made it under it's own power. i hope this will help you. the only other thing i can say is find one you can ride first. because you can't really judge it till you ride it no matter what anyone else tells you. if they bash the bike ask them if they have rode one yet. chances are they have not.

and mines not nedless to say thats not what this thread is about you could owe a million on your poor little 250x i could care less and being only 15 doesnt really make me think you know what it takes to make a sport quad sorry bud but thats my opinion, im not a yamaha fan but the wolverine looks like a heck of alot of fun

o ive had plenty of 4 wheelers in the past

and the wov probably is fun i would tke on for free but it should be called a sprt/utility not sport

how do you consider it a utility though??? it doesnt have racks so you cant haul anything with it... it doesnt have a hitch so you cant tow anything with it, those two things kinda eliminate the utility factor thats not what this quad is aimed at.

utility = 4x4 shaft drive,automatic(some)
sport= clutch,2wd,chain drive

would you consider a subaru wrx a utility vehical because you can get it with an auto trans it has 4 door and all wheel drive?
the 4x4 on the yamaha just adds to the sport factor. why not make a sport quad that can wheelie, jump, go fast and also hit mud holes your 250 would disapear in?

ok, well my parents just bought a new 07 wolverine 450 and i think it is pretty cool, it handles well and goes anywhere, but is kinda gutless. i have a 400ex, and my dad has an 05 brute force 750. my mom actually rides the wolverine and she absolutly loves it. i like my 400, but it is fun to rally the wolverine around sometimes.

Perfect 4x4 quad to me would the wolverine 450 that was not fullyautomatic---the semi auto like the old 1 had was great."was pissed i have a 95 waited 10 years for the new 1 to come out and its a fullauto.So i got the 700 raptor instead.Really a wolverine with the 700 semiauto in it i would buy in a sec! oh and i say my 95 wolverine is a sport quad and it is 4x4 has racks and a tow hitch--------------------------------------------------------------------p.s. Yamaha Plz mate the 2 quads in the pic

Has anyone seen the FST wolverine that was in the Dirtwheels mag? That thing was pretty wicked IMO! As for the sport quad vs utility thing, I enjoy getting mad air off of jumps and stuff. but being able to just billy goat up and over stuff is very cool too. I like trying to go as slow as possible and let the quad do its thing.
