250r Swingarm compatability question

i was wondering if an aftermarket swingarm (roll) from a 88 ir 89 250r will fit on a 86 250r frame. i know that in 88 and 89 they are an inch shorter, but i need to know if it will bolt up to the frame.

to put a 88-89 swing arm on an 87 you have to cut some of the frame.. im not exactly sure what you have to do put my buddy has a 88 arm on his 87..it will work but fabbing is involved

its not the width of the frame or any thing.. i think the linkage is different and maybe where the top of the linkage travels a frame rail needs notched or something like that
