Hey I have the HRC Kit in my quad, and it has a 162 main jet. I think it is running lean. I have no airbox lid, and the plug is still white. What are you guys running for jets on your 06's? I was thinking about going to like a 175 main, but I guess I can figure out what I need when it goes on the dyno. I need to know what I should run to be in the ballpark on the proper amount of fuel. any help is also appreciated. Thanks

I put a 172 in mine today when I took the lid off and took out the spark arrester that was the first one I tried and it worked real good so I kept it like that.

I went up to a 170 main. Make sure you go up on the pilot jet also, atleast a 45. I personally went with a 48 pilot jet.

krazy keith do you have the HRC kit. Also when i get the 06 i plan on taking the baffle out on the exhaust. Do i need to re-jet. what are the modifications can i do to a stock 06 without re-jetting like removing baffle, remove air box lid...etc. or do i need to re-jet all the time.

thanks

Anytime you make a major mod to the intake or exhaust you should rejet. If you only are changing your main jet it should take you no more than 10 minutes with the right tools.

yes yes dyno and tell. Im running 162 with hrc on 06 450r, I also put on a k&n so I may need to rejet before I get exhaust, I was hoping to wait. It seems to be running great. Ill pull the plug tomarrow. let us know what the dyno says

I plan to run the quad on the dyno this week. I know it is running lean, rode alot today and it was a little hard to start when it was warm, telling me it is not getting the proper amount of fuel. I love the HRC Kit. I waxed everything that I raced which consisted of an 04 450, an 05 450, a predator 500, a Z400, and a girly 300 ex. Cant wait to get a slip-on, and I am ordering some Tag handlebars, a dyno jet kit, and a new rear tire tomorrow.(I blew mine today when I hit a big rock) Cant wait to race my buddy's YFZ 450 on Thursday when he comes back. He's been a little cocky and I think it's time to show him who's boss.

When you check your plug, ideally it should be a new plug and if you are trying do a plug check for your main jet than you will have to do a full throttle run and hit the kill switch to really get a good main jet reading. A dyno would be even better yet ofcourse because those spark plugs are a bit on the spendy side.

Yeah that is how I have checked the plug. Even after riding it a while, the endcap of the exhaust is fairly white, and I do not like that. I am thinking about bumping it up to a 175 main and a 45 pilot.
