Hello,
Since I am pondering trying out cross country, my son would like to give it a go as well. Ive looked at the GNCC rulebook, but am still unsure of what all can be changed on his ride.

1. Production Rule (ATV): OEM motor and matching frame combination model required. Engine modifications, frame reinforcements and frame modifications to permit longer rear-wheel travel are permitted.

9. Youth ATV: Production rules apply to production modified classes. Stock class rules apply to stock limited class; aftermarket exhaust permitted.

Rule 1 says OEM motor / engine modifications allowed. Do you still have to use the factory cylinder? Is that what it is meaning by OEM? or just that you have to use the OEM engine as your starting platform?
It mentions frame modifications to permit longer rear wheel travel. Can you do any alterations or shock changes to the front suspension?

Sorry if these seem like poor questions, but having never been in the race scene, the above rules seemed rather vague.

Thanks in advance for your time, response, and understanding.

Sincerely,
PastDue
