help axle conversion

will a 400ex axle work ona 250r using all 250r parts

I just ordered a Lone star axle for a 250r and they screwed up and sent a 400ex axle. They're making it right and sending the 250r axle while I send back the 400ex. But, the guy said the 400ex and 250r axles are the same except for the splines on the hubs, differant number of splines, so you'd have to use 400ex hubs. I didn't look at it that close but thats what he claimed.

i think you have to use a 400ex locknut with the 400ex axle

You do have to use the 400ex lock nut and hubs with the conversion. Other than that they work fine with the carrier etc.

The 400EX and 250R stock lock nut are the same, both have the same part numbers. As Tom said, hubs don't interchange.
