If your just putting in a main jet then you dont have to take the quad apart. But since you say kit youll be changing the needle and possibly the pilot jet, so yes you have to take the plastics and gas tank off. A little time consuming but its quite simple to do. Im pretty sure it just takes a flat head screw driver, allen wrech (not sure which size any more), and a 10mm socket and wrench. Have fun:D !

I just got done working on it for the day and it was'nt that bad. it took me about 10-15 mins to snatch the plastic off so i cant wine too much. a lot easier than my old 300ex..:)

I have never removed my front fenders or gas tank. Just take the tank loose in the rear and raise it up and slide a screw driver handle in between the frame and tank to raise it up a little bit outta your way.

Then you can take both boots loose and lift the carb up and outta the frame.

With the throttle cable still attached, lay hold the carb up and outside of the frame and screw the float bowl off and do your thing!

you could always put the right jets in it and ditch the adapter

you'll probably end up havin to order it from dynojet. PN DJA001. my first response was simply a suggestion so you could get your quad back together while you figure out what you need to do.

btw. there are far, far more than just dynojet and stock jets. they are called the correct jets for that carb they are available from size 80-230. you should be able to get one from any motorbike store. the same jets that fit the FCR, CR, PJ and a bunch of other Keihins. just a suggestion.

Nothing wrong with a Dynojet kit. Your kit should have come with 2 main jet adapters.

Yea i went ahead and put the stock main in and put it back together so i could ride, but i didnt see another adapter in the kit tho. i'll prolly have to call dynojet in the morning since ididnt see it on their website.

So you rode it with the stock jet, id have waited. It is running pretty lean. Just dont do it to long or youll be replacing other parts.

yea if you go to your local shop they should sell single jets, so they should have adapters. they should only run around $2.

if not your shops suck.

the shop i work for doesnt sell them, they are a dynojet replacement part only so its not a stocking item, but i'd call around and see if anyone has it like he said

That's funny, my kit came with 2, but it also came with the new air/fuel mixture tool for the 05/06 models which would make me think it wasn't an older kit.:ermm:

If this guy looked he would find the other. or look on the parts list and see if it lists 2 adapters.
