Most of the people on this site that know my family, and in particular my son Cody, know that on his request we did not jump into this years GNCC season due to his school work. He has been working hard to earn points for a scholarship, he signed up for this on his own, we had no idea until after the school year started.

This year he has buckled down and been johnny bookworm and has been excelling in his honors student excellerated classes. In this year alone, he has earned 1 high school credit and if he contiunes will have 3 by the time he enters high school, allowing him to graduate early on the honors program.

We recieved a call a few minutes ago, from his school, informing us that Cody was chosen as the Academic Student of the Year and will be recieveing an award and acknowldgement from the school and the state for all of his hard work!

Way to go Codeman!

PS> if anyone see's him, please do not say anything, this is going to be done infront of his entire school on april 5th and he has no clue he has won anything!

Cody is definately above average in the brains department(as well as the riding department). The last time I was at Kenny's I was talking with Cody while we were watching the "Fallout" video and I swear he can carry on a more intelligent conversation with you than most adults.Congrats Hills!

haha, jason all i get to see his him fight with his brother so ill take your word for it:p

can you believe his gym teacher told him he thought he was lazy:o cody informed him to come to a race and see how lazy he is, or most any night of the week to watch him do laps. he also finished with informing the teacher that any day he wanted to try his hand on an atv that he would arrange it......i think he was setting him up to roost the chit outta him:chinese:

oh we are most deffinatley proud. at first, i was angry he wanted to cut back his racing schedule, but i have told him that it is always his call. when i started seeing the mountains of books and tons of homework, and found out about the honors program, i was surpised. its not often a 12 year old jumps in with both feet to something like this, and follows it thru. when i was 12 i could run cattle thru the milking barn, feed all the animals and just make the school bus, school was my rest time:p

jesus, im 16 and my entre schedule including school revolves around racing haha....go to school early, work out for about an hour...go to weight training and work out for another 50 minutes, then sleep through my other classes...after school i go to work, then its back to and doing laps lol....i get the grades i need to graduate, nothing more....

i commend cody on his effort, in 30 years i'll vote for him for president...
