I just took off the nasty red plastic guard on my handlebars. Now I did some modifcation to my headlight housing too and now I need a place to put my ignition switch, reverse light and neutral light. What do you guys recccomend? What do you guys do with your stuff with aftermarket handlebars?

Right now, there just zipp tied to my handles. Is there a plate or holder I can buy for the 300ex handlebars?

I did contact my local shop and they only came up with selling me 400ex handlebars with the 05 light/ignition plastic handlebar cover.

I just fabbed up a plate out of 1/16th inch steel, drilled some holes in it, and mounted everything behind the headlight. Either that, or you could mount the neutral and reverse lights int he headlight housing, and put the key switch in the fender.

I wish some company made a plate holder or something for it.

I read somewhere that a 250Ex keyholder would work. You might do a little research and find one of them used. I just drilled a hole in the plastic on the right side above the gas tank.

250X (not 250EX) bar plastic will hold the key and tank vent tube but not the lights.

look at this picture, it shows were I put my key. My nuetral like is on the other side of the tank. All you have to do, is get a drill bit that is big enough but not too big and then drill. I didn't mount the reverse light since I didnt feel the need to. Just click the picture to make it bigger. The key is right above the Armadillo sticker if you cant find it.

yes the 250X(87) will fit the 300ex perfectly. they are $16 from bikebandit.

2003- 250ex dash on a 1998 300ex on my wife's. Had to use the top handlebar clamps with the small screw hole in them but it worked out great.

This part also fits perfectly with the stock headlight plastic because the 87X had the same headlight plastic without the neutral light. (or was it without the reverse light?)
