I just installed a rekluse and have the clutch chatter at low rpms when I get on the gas. I have a 05 450r. Gap is set at .035 and I am using rotella oil. The perch adjuster and lever is set correctly.. Any Ideas on what to do?? I called Rekluse and the guy I talked to said this is normal with the trx??? Will this cause damage over time?? I race XC so I need to know if it will hold up to two hours of riding.. The rekluse guy said I could buy a hinson basket to solve the problem?? I really don't want to spend $200 to solve the problem if I don't have to. I have also heard that you can tighten up the install gap to .025-.029 and this will help. Rekluse recommends .029-.042 for the gap???

Did you remove the judder springs on your clutch and did your basket have any wear?

I didn't remove the judder springs unless the judder springs are the two rings at the bottom of the basket by the last fiber?? I really don't know what the judder springs are??? To make it simple for everyone who reads this, I just followed the directions from Rekluse. I didn't add or take away anything. The quad has about 8 hrs on it. Basket looked good.

Thanks for the help!!!

I have heard several recommend to take the judder springs out and to take the bottum fiber(thin one) and replace it with a normal one. I have mine that way and it works fine. It does sound different with the rekluse in it, but you just get used ot it.

from looking at different post on the net, I think the two judder springs are the two round rings at the back of the basket. One is flat and the other one is more cone shaped if that makes sense. In the rekluse instructions that I have, it says to remove these two rings. The instructions on their website doesn't say anything about the rings. I guess they have updated the instructions.

check out the trx450 clutch mod on this site.

removal of judder springs and last fiber [its smaller than the rest], then install standard fiber in its place.

maybe that smaller fiber is messing it up? dont have the recluse, so i cant say, just tryin to help

thanks for the advice. I'll look at getting another fiber plate. I just rode the beast again and the chatter is very minor. I'm going to check the gap again and see what it is at. Judder springs are out. Rekluse says to remove them in their instructions.
