I was wondering what is the benefits of buying a new smaller front sprocket, or will it not make any differences. Could you tell me what the size of the front sprockets on a 05 400ex are and if i should and or would benefit from a smaller front sprocket. I mostley ride trails and do hill climbs, thank in advance.

on an 05, the stock cs sprocket is a 14, so if you want to go down one, you need a 13t. The benefits of running a smaller sprocket is the ability to use higher gears in the trails, makes frst gear lower so you acan idle along slower, give the illusion of more torque and power. Some people like it, but personally i think stock is perfect, i soemtimes even go 1 up in the front.

a smaller front sprocket would probably help u for where you're riding. it would give you better acceleration, but , with a lower top speed...
