I would suggest the 35W light, due to the stock stator being only 100W. The stock tail light pulls about 7 so you should be fine. If you plan on running an aftermarket stator or having your stock rewound for 200W then you could go with 50W lights.

Indeed.

Just because the stock stator is 100 watts, that doesn't mean you can use all 100 watts to power your lights. There will be losses in the wiring, as well as a few watts needed for the taillight. As a general rule, you can use up to 80% of your stator's output power for headlights.

trail tech reccomends a rewound stator for 50+ watt lights. we ran a 200w ricky stator and his big dual 8" lights at the 12hour, they were awsome. we also had 2 50w trail tech lights as back up's which we had to use when one of the ricky stator builds blew. the trail tech's worked nice but not as bright as the ricky stator lights.

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to buy the 35watt because I dont want to mess with the stator. Just curious about how much brighter they are over stock? Also do you think I should get the minis or the regular torch lights.
