i was wondering if it would be possible to put a honda 450r motor in a 400ex. how much would it be. and how many mod's would i have to do to get it to fit.

your lookin at 2300 for a motor. 300 for carb, 400 for exhaust then another 200 for a shop to make it fit, now another 200 for electronics and cables. About 7-800 for getting everything to fit and 300 in PC and gusseting and hey you got yourself a bad handling poorly suspended 450r!

not bad whats that like 4400 bucks? not bad at all. O yea you also need a radiatorm coolant bottle, oil overflow, oil cooler....hmm

I think the help would have been much better, and more respectable if it would have lacked the sarcasm:rolleyes:

I agree. But he did have the info to back it up. Go easy on him the guy. Youd be better off buying a 450r.

yeah for the labor and money, you might as well buy the 450r.

If you have the know-how to do it and could find a 450R engine with all the extras for cheap, I'd definately do it. I loved the way my 400ex rode but could care less for the 450R.

you would probably be better off looking for a crf or a yzf motor
