why do people have short swing arms and how much does it cost to get one shortened and how many inchs shorter could u get it

people generally shorten their swinger for more traction. Some of the people that i race with have them shortened up to 3"

A shorter swingarm gives you more weight on the rear wheels, which gives you more traction. It's very popular with flattrack racers and ice racers.

However, it's not all that popular for people that need to use extensive suspension travel, like MX and XC racers.

ya also if you get a shorter swinger or shorten yours be prepared for the front end to be off the ground most of the time./
