How come some of the +3 A Arms fit threw the 50inch gate at the Nationals and some dont, people have the same set up for the front end, tires, aarms, and shocks and some dont make it through how can this be? I mean all +3 aarms are pretty much the same length wise right? Does it have to do with the shocks u have, and way they are preloaded? im just wondering Cuz i wanted to know this before I buy +3 aarms. If someone could explain this it would be helpful
Thanks. Matt:)

i think it may have to do with front wheels.they might be in-set.

Yeah I have a Gibson +3 front end, and with the wheels I had before, its just over 50 inches. But with my new wheels with a 4+1 offset, its right under 50 inches.

it mainly depends on how u have your ride hight setup. if u have it up high it will more than likely fit the 50 inch limit. but if u have it real low it probaly wont fit.

I would suggest JB a arms for your 450r. JB makes them in a +2 3/4, or a +2 3/8, I cant remember which one exactly. That should put you right at 50 inches with zps shocks. Sure, a true +3 might be wider, but with the JB setup, you will be sure that you're not over 50.

I'm running the gibson +3's with elka quad rate compression adjustable shocks. I sent my elkas off a week ago to JH Racing and just got them back, and they are alot better than when I first got them. Ive been happy with my elkas so far, and i cant wait to test them out on the track since i got them revalved by JH. The only thing about the gibson front end is you have to have the 4+1 offset rims to make it under 50 inches. Im not sure if you have to do that on the 400 ex, but im pretty sure cuz i have to on my 450r. Here is a pic to give you an idea of what it will look like. I dont have the 4+1 rims in this pic, so it is just over 50 inches.

yea that looks good i was also interested in the roll design kit from duncan racing but that kit would cost me 3 grand to buy though how much did u pay for yours. and it looks like u need a rear axle also rearend looks a little narrow to me.

I do have an axle, its a lonestar. The back end sits right at 49 inches, and the front is a little over 50 right now, just waitin on those 4+1 rims so i can be within legal limit

janssen is the last kit i was lookin at also but i might end up going with that cus of money but i think i could get 3k some why i know id feel happier with a more expensive kit than a cheaper one.
