i ride tight trails also...i bought a 400ex in 2002...i have not missed the reverse at all, except for this one time at a poker run when i was ina line waiting to go through a mudhole...there was an alternate route and everytime i got off the bike and backe it up, the ditzy girl in front of me would back her big arse artic cat 4wd ugly thing right up to my front bumper...
i might have roosted her a little after i finally got to get out of line...

the point is, i have not ever missed having a revers...i actuall get turned around alot faster then the guys using their reverse

You won't miss the reverse as much as you will having a narrower quad...... 50" is WIDE out in the trails.

Agree.. the LT-R isn't intended for tight trails. Honestly for that application look into a TRX450R. They are the best suited 450 for the tight trails IMHO.

A used 400ex isn't a half bad option either. ;)
