450r Hoods

Ive never purchased a hood for a quad before or even looked into it , I know of some who make them but not all

i like the laker sustoms hood that my friend has and the maier vented that is on mine...everybody and their borther has the quadtech hoods...here is my maier...

I have the Maier hood I like it alot its cheap.

I have had the Quadtech hood and its awesome but expensive...

I have also had the Laker custom hood and all tho cheap its ok. I think its built a little to ridgid and does not flex at all. Mine cracked a little near the top inside corners. It had to be spread to fit well. I also had the Laker plastics.

i have the maier scooped hood it gives the bike a bad*** look to me but who knows everyone has a different taste.

313 racing, the hood tabs go inside the plastic, it gives it a cleaner look, but you will need to trim just a little more or a smoother fit

red scooped quad tech. there is a couple of the "06" style quadtech hoods on ebay if you want to see what they look like.

if you are looking for the older style (or in between) give JH racing a call, he had a few in stock i think.

I have the new style hood with scoop, i think it looks 100x better then the old style, i will get some pics when i have everything together.

I have always been a fan of the smooth style ones, like quadtechs. If I didn't need my lights so bad that's the style I'd get.

look on ebay, thats where i got mine, if not just look around on there website or the milliion shops that might sell them. there has to be a couple out there. if not go to the uk version of the quadtech website. i know they have alot of merchandise even some older 250r hoods.

Is there an aftermarket vented hood that lets you keep the headlight ? they look great but I do alot of night riding in the dunes and cant roll without lights.

yes quadtech sells a hood that allows you to use the stock lights

Just to give ya'll a heads up....

I talked to Quad Tech today and the price is going up BIGTIME on the Carbon fiber hoods due to high demand on Carbon Fiber (apparently ther is a plastic hood too now?)

Its going from like 170.00 to a whopping 285.00 each! :eek:

they are also backrodered for about 3-4 weks :(

I just ordered my custom numbers to fit the hood too :(:ermm:

450rJam-For the 06 450r Quad Tech makes hoods that you can still use the light. I also think you can get any kind of hood and still use the light on 06.

does anyone have any pics of the vented quadtech hoods (new style perferably) on a 06 r with the lights still on underneath, also does it take away much visability at night with over hang?

Trailtech/Fullbore have a hood that the lights mount in.
Looks a bit bugeyed, but kind of cool at the same time. Put a set of HID's in there, and you'll be rockin in the dunes.

I just got the Smooth Maier hood for my 06. On the 06 do you have to cut the 2 plastic pieces off at the bottom that hold the stock hood on? It won't fit up right with them on. Just wondering what everybody else did before I cut anything...
