40:1 = 5 gallons of gas, 16 ounces of oil

32:1= 5 gallons of gas, 20 ounces of oil

I ran 40:1 in my cr80.

is it supposed to smoke? mine doesnt smoke, and most 2 strokes i have ever seen smoked, and im just conserned... im running 40:1 as of now, no smoke

and 2 strokes are supposed to burn oil correct? creating smoke?

Usually when a 2 stroke is cold it will smoke but for the most part you dont want it creating a huge smoke cloud..

My banshee running on 40:1 only smokes a little bit while warming up, after that none.

*All of the oil mixtures are for a 1 gallon gas can*

25:1 = 5.12 fl. oz.
26:1 = 4.92 fl. oz.
27:1 = 4.74 fl. oz.
28:1 = 4.57 fl. oz.
29:1 = 4.41 fl. oz.
30:1 = 4.27 fl. oz.
31:1 = 4.13 fl. oz.
32:1 = 4.00 fl. oz.
33:1 = 3.88 fl. oz.
34:1 = 3.76 fl. oz.
35:1 = 3.66 fl. oz.
36:1 = 3.56 fl. oz.
37:1 = 3.46 fl. oz.
38:1 = 3.37 fl. oz.
39:1 = 3.28 fl. oz.
40:1 = 3.20 fl. oz.
41:1 = 3.12 fl. oz.
42:1 = 3.05 fl. oz.
43:1 = 2.98 fl. oz.
44:1 = 2.91 fl. oz.
45:1 = 2.84 fl. oz.
46:1 = 2.78 fl. oz.
47:1 = 2.72 fl. oz.
48:1 = 2.67 fl. oz.
49:1 = 2.61 fl. oz.
50:1 = 2.56 fl. oz.

Here you go. You should be fine with 40:1. You are correct saying 32:1 = 32 parts gas to 1 part oil. Some people like to run 32:1 as they feel the engine will last longer. Never run above 40:1 and use only 2 stroke oil. I buy mine from walmart in gallon jugs in the sporting goods/boat dept. Just to give you a idea, the standard for almost all 2 stroke boat engines since 1980 is 50:1. A boat engine runs a a steady speed though and a dirt bike is on and of the throttle alot which is harder on the bearings so it needs a bit more lubrication.

I'd say you'd be alright 40:1..On like 125 2 strokes a lot of people, including myself, run 32:1 because the way the bike is riddin, 125s it's always screaming to stay in the powerband, but with ur bike 40:1 should be alright.;)

I cant believe how many people dont understand this....you need to mix it according to the oil, not the machine. Each oil blends differently with the fuel your using, check with the manufacturer of the oil and see what they recommend.

MXjunkie, did you know with yamalube the banshee is supposed to be mixed at 20:1? Its a completely different oil.
