Well i sent my frame and some other parts out to pappy and got some powder on them...............

it shouldint be too much longer till i get this back together. Ive got some oem stuff for the motor on its way

i also got some nacs # backgrounds, the blue nacs hub center caps (instead of red), and the blue nacs water pump cover.

Still need new fullbores, graphics, and a few other small things and i should get it rolling!

im getting white fullbores

i got the clutch cover PCed because it was purple:confused:
it was cheaper to get it pced than buy a new one

the color is called Stealth black, it is a flat mini texured black

the spindle shafts are moly coated

Hinson makes it

Burgaurd also makes one thats a little cheaper than the hinson one.

just curious, there's a guy on ebay that does the mod and you but the cover for i think 140, and most covers that i've seen have been around a 100

100 140??? still expensive, in the nacs catalog its like 140 for a new cover, and like 500 for the "quick change" mod

PC was cheaper, plus i think it looks pretty good

i'am saying 240 for the whole thing, but you send in your cover how is this expensive?

just putting in my 2 cents here:

The hinson quick change clutch cover is hive hundred because it is a whole new side cover and the clutch cover to fit it not modifieing your stock side cover

the one on ebay or other places is modifying your stocl one for around 140, then you have to buy the hinson clutch cover to go with it, yes this is cheaper but i have never seen one or used one to know about its reliability

and mayeb he wanted the whole side cover to be black..? whats wrong with that, also if its molycoated it will make it stronger

not trying to start anything here but its what the guy wants i perosnally would rather have the "Original quick change: than some guy i don't know machining my stock cover to save me a few hundred

So the way i'am understanding this is the hinson cover isn't a stock cover just modified? Are you saying it's a aftermarket casted piece? I haven't a clue, I just figured that you are just paying for the name. No I don't know anyone that has had this guy do the mod for them, besides his feedback that i read on ebay. The coating you are talking about, don't know anything about that either. I was just asking who had do it, and was just saying i seen where someone did it cheaper. I myself would have this guy do the machining, and buy a hinson cover and send it out to be cryoed. And save 200 smackers

yes the hinson cover is a whole new casting with the colored cover that is removed to change out the clutch you remove those 8 bolts i think ti is and that allu have to do to get to the clutch were as stock you have to remove the whole side cover

molycoating makes things extremely stong
pappy if you're reading this jump in here and explain it better please
or just ask pappy if ur curious

ok im not positive about the hinson thing, i know you can buy the whole deal from hinson for 500 bucks, I was unaware of any people on ebay machining the stock case.

I just bought this 250r and i am rebuilding it. The clutch cover was purple:confused: so i got it PCed stealth black. The case was nasty looking, so rather than gettting a new one i got it PCed a texurted grey.

This saved me a few hundred bux

And none of it is moly coated, although i did get other parts molyed

the clutch cover was at one time anodized black, uv deterioration caused it to fade to a purplish color.
