Here is my FIRST truck. It is a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. It's one of the first 1999's, that's why its the older body style. Its got a 5.7 Litre V8!, Leather interior, and the odometer only has 49,989 miles!! I'm so excited. I know that the front is wrecked but I'm getting all that cleaned up Thursday. I also took the toolbox off.

how much did you, or your parents pay for it.

I got it for 10,000. I paid for 4,000 so far, but I still got to pay another 3,000 back to my parents. So really I am paying for 7,000. I'm paying for gas, and half my insurance though. It will all be worth it in the end!

I don't care for the Z71 because it don't ever really go off road.

when you go to buy parts, make sure you say it's a 1998, cause it has the 5.7 350 not the 5.3 engine in the actual 99's and new body style.

nice looking truck. i take it that its only 2wd? kinda sucks because the front end is a little lower.. looks funny imo. but i guess if you dont need 4wd, why pay for it... here is mine i got a couple weeks ago. im waiting for the snow to stop flying before i take the stupid topper off, but right now it saves me from shoveling out the back.. then melting and rusting stuff in the box.

Yea, I know to say its a 1998 when I get parts. My dad has a 2002 with the rounded body style (5.3). Im getting a smoothie bumper and a new grille shell too. By the way I'm probably going to get some shackles to drop the back end so it will sit level.

Why, all the Z-71 is a a set of stickers and different shocks.

nice lookin truck, but IMHO 10k is a little steep for that, ecspecially if it is only a 2wd.

I'd rather have the 2wd then the 4wd, better gas mileage and you can throw a nausty motor in it. Dont get me wrong I love mudding but honestly, you cant mud your daily driver and drive it everyday, all my friends are getting trucks to mud in now

It's clean as hell man looks awesome.

Nice truck, I used to have a 98 Red shortbed, Reg cab Chevy Silverado with the 5.7L motor. Great running motor, and you'll be real pleased with it everyday. And for it sitting uneven, shackle the rear, I did the same thing to my truck and it sat level and looked great!!!

Everyone that does around here chit breaks and they cant drive to work the next day. We do trails, mud pits (big big mud pits) usually they jump their trucks if they get the chance. So tell me how you can take your daily driver and mud it almost everynight?

oh yea the old body style chevy pickups the 89-98 are a pretty popular bodystyle so finding parts for them is pretty eazy if u want a new bumper and to fix whatever body damage you go you can probally check with a local salvage yard or order them directly from chevy...id suggest a salvage yard first

you can beat your DD to a certain extent, as long as you know the limit you are fine.

AS for 2wd or 4wd, i would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. plus you can always find a use for a 4wd. and who says you cant put a big honkin motor in a 4wd? some of the baddest motors i have ever seen have been in 4wd's. My brother had a 1968 chevy K20 with a 454 pushing out 525HP and 650lb/ft.

Nice Silverado bud, congrats on your 1st truck!! :D Really looks clean save the crumpled front bumper, but you said you were getting a smoothie bumper so no big deal. I have a 99' F-150 that I bought with 20,000 miles 5 years ago as my first truck so I know that giddy feeling you must have. 99 seems to be a good year don't know why, the truck has been trouble-free and is now up to 90,000 miles and supercharged lol
