400ex carb ques.????

i was taking my carb apart to clean it on my 400ex and when i took the black plastic side cover off i found a little black rubber piece floating around i think it might go towards the bottom of the carb where part of the bowl sticks into it: srry i dont have any pics, any helps appreciated

did it look like a little dust boot?

uh it wasnt like a gasket or o-ring it was about 1/2 an inch long and ribbed, one end is wider then the other

if we are talking about the same thing, then i think that belongs on the accelerator pump shaft in your floatbowl.

wtf is it doing in the throttle side? maybe i'm way off here.
