I have a 416 w/ 12:1 je piston, hot rods crank, porting, valves, fcr carb, Everythign you could think of for a power adder.
I can run with 450's on the track no prob. I race and do well in B class.
But in a flat out drag, I can toast a BONE stock 04 450r, or 04 yfz.
thoes are the 2 machines I have run against in a drag, countless times, I win hands doun..
with a pipe on the yfz I'm eating dust by 3rd.
with pipe on the 450r Im eating dust by top of 3rd low 4th.
thoes 450's cant be beat.

ya, I wish it was that easy.
actually a well build 426 will blow the doors off ( On a race track, Not drag race) a 440.
I'm going to swap to a 426 shortly, I have had my 416 together for 2 days and it just isnt fast enough. dont get me wrong. feels like the handle bars are going to rip off on hard acceleration. lol. But 426 has a little more balls.
see at 450r or yfz, had a verry light valve train and piston. the piston on a yfz is so short, I took one apart the other day, the whole piston cant be more than 2 inches tall.
So event if you had a 502 stroker, it still cant be beat by the well built 450.

i have seen a duncan 416 smoke a 450r with full system factory 4 and a k&n all day in a drag by 6 bikes. that was also in wet sand.

All in how it is built and the combination of parts you use. I have yet to be beat by a yfz or 450r, but I do know my day is soon coming. I can still beat a piped, jetted, timing modded yfz, but I definately don't destroy him. If he steps it up witha f couple more mods, it would be a tough fought battle.
