Tie rod lengths please help!

Ok guys Im currently working on a project buggy and we're needing some tie-rods right now. I tried my stock 450R tie-rods and they were about 2 inches too long. Can someone go out and measure a 400ex stock length tie rod? I thought I remembered reading that the stock 400 tie rods were about 2 inches shorter than the 450R ones. Any and all measurements would be greatful. Also I only need the exact tie rod measurement without the ends on it, just the rod itself. Thanks guys and gals.
