here is the Z that I am getting jus waiting for the papers to be handed to me its a 2005 LTZ ... im saving up to have it modified from the ground up for every thing on this machine
are their any tips to look out for when modifieing or does it depend on what you want to do because I am planning on putting around 2-4 Grand in it what are some ideas on modifications I mostly do alot of Dune riding and fast trail riding as long as a little bit of baja adventures so what kind of suspension set up will be perfect for these types and what should I do to this spectacular machine in performance wise

3 grand??wtf are u smoking??
Full exhaust- about $500
Prodesgn Intake- $110 new $50 used
Some elka recs- $400 w/rezzies $800
Hotcams- $250
JE High Comp Piston- $200
Paddles- $100-120

$1960
And there is really no point in the piston and i would drze springs and gasket to raise the compression. Get a new clutch cover cause i bet a million $$ that yours is corroded. If you dont belive me here- http://www.z400central.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=52767
and i would also look into some a-arms maybe a carb.

wtf are you smoking is the question elka quoted me for DUNE edition elkas 895 for the fronts alone, and i already went to my dealer and they said only a complete idiot that did the setup would do that. they checked mine and it was clean as a whistle.

plus paddles on the lowest grade RELIABLE wheel is atleast 250 (good paddles not complete ****)

Save room in your budget for a graphics kit. If there's one place you have to look good- it's the dunes!

(I don't know about you but the pink honeycombs or whatever on the hood ain't workin for me!)

i did a 440 for 350 with machine work
40mm carb for 380 with cable from service honda
hot cams 250
ct exaust with 16 discs for 500
a little extra port work for 200
now that will give you some spunk to lay it down at the dunes and then piece together the other stuff when you get the cash
and a IMS 4.0 tank for 200 cause shes gonna get thirsty

z400 Dune power: Athena 434, dyna cdi, hot cams (both), yfz450 fcr carb w/ 400ex air boot and aftermarket filter set-up, drz valvesprings, and of course a nice full system. Most parts can be had for around 1500.00 total.

Dune Suspension your stock shocks are decent a nice revalve from Derisi or TCS and a extended axle with some plus 3 a-arms your set.

The z400 aftermarket demand is dying down and parts can be had new for smoking prices.

Houser Racing is blowing out A-arms Stem etc. z400central.com has some great build tips and some shops that can hook you up with the motor mods in a huge package deal.

definitly get some paddles, some more horsepower to spin the paddles and then a graphics kit to make it look all pretty
