What is the lightest cross country tire?
when racing xc, light isnt always best, if your looking for a light 6 ply tire, the maxxis razr seems to be the way to go, if your getting into a lot of mud, you may want to look into the razr2 or irazr

I dont race xc. I just dont know if should get a MX tire or a XC tire. Almost all of my riding is in a sand pit and I jump a lot so thats why I want a light one.

It depends what the pit is like....if it is smooth like the dunes, i would go with an mx tire (ITP probably) they are the best for jumping. However if the terrain is rough and you must worry about bottoming you definetly want a trail tire. ITP's XCR and new GNCC are pretty light tires for the trail.. I can't really speak for other brands, but if your jumping you will want a lower profile tire.
