Hey
I have a stock 400ex and I dont have a lot of money because I am saving up for some new tires
what should I do to make my ex look better and/or preform better,... there are so many decisions

if it not the newer models i would shave the plastics

i think the newer models look better with cut plastics. as far as performance i would look to get a pipe.

suspension, suspension, suspension.

save ur money and get a good suspension, this will help over anything else.

TOTALLY AGREE......I put works triple rates with rezzies on mine before anything and I was beating my buddies with pipes.

and i agree with you, but do not get the works....they are the worst shocks that you could possibly buy. the paint chips off, and the internals of the rezzies are horrid. get some tcs great shocks for the money.

and if you got cash to burn get elka,pep,custom axis, the good fox shox, or the progressive shocks.

does the new 400ex plastic bolt on to the older years,... I have heard you dont have to do any modifing and you do,... which it true

i agree with every one els save up and get shocks, a-arms and an axle. its pontless to get engine mods if u dont have handling.
after u get all that then u can play with ur engine.

TC's are just works custom valved

Ya, I liked my works but ended up getting peps and putting them on my wifes quad.....get a lot of bang for your buck with the works...I got mine for $300 used to my door, I got my peps for $350 used and had to revalve them.....both good deals

How does suspension help that much. I know it will help with comfort and handling and stuff, but what else will it give, and help out with. Just wondering cause i'm not sure, and i'm thinking about that as my next mod.

with stock 400 suspension...you can't use the power you already have....other than in a str8 line on flat ground....can go faster through the woops and trails instead of haveing to lift off the throttle

just get a slip on pipe some 450R front shocks and tires and ull be good to go

you dont need all the A arm and axle unless you plan on racin MX

Get a pipe I like the Curtis Sparks the best on 400ex's they look sweet put out good hp gains and sound nice and deep.
