my brother is selling his bike to buy a 4x4 and i want to keep my kfx400, i was wondering what type of tire would do good in mud but still have a good trail ride???i was thinking maybe the holeshot hd because its 6 ply and has a real agressive tread

Razr 2's are the best all around tire in my book... they do well in pretty much all terrain types

Try the Knarly's. I've been in some deep mud with mine and for trails they are good too.

Just a question about the Knarlys.... Ive heard that the kenda tires have a real hard copound and dont like to hold air on the bead very well... ever have any trouble keepin your tires up if they set for very long?

I have the Knarly's since July 05. They sat all winter and I just put them back on. I needed 1 pound in 1 of them now. Haven't had any problems otherwise! Had them on my EX and can't wait to get them on my KFX I just bought!

if you want a cheap all around tire mud sharks work in mud and sand plus they come in 21's to get that rear up a little more without sacrficing to much power, but i running razor 2's on my R and those are the best I've tried yet

I have holeshot HDs on my KFX and they're the best tires in my opinion.
I've been in some pretty good mudd and never even thought of getting stuck.
The 6 ply part is a good thing too, they can take alot more abuse and you'll won't get a flat tire.

They might be a bit more pricey but you won't have to get new ones for a long time

I've seen a set of RAZR 2's eaten up on the coal hills in 2 or 3 rides! Don't know about the HD's on coal but the regular Holeshots aren't too good there. As for mud, trails and racing I hear they are both good. I know, coal has nothing to do with it but I had to mention it! :D I'd try the Knarly XC's, HD's or the All Tracs! Good prices and good traction in all terrain!

I'd really say Razr 2's or holeshot HD's. both are great tires. Even take a look at the iRazr's. The set I trail ride with do really well in mud.

It looks like the new ITP Trac Stars will be a great all around tire. They have quite a bit of space between the knobs and should do really well in mud. My friend has razr's on his and it sucks in mud. My stock tires do way better!!
