Do dirtbike tires need to be taken off with a machine?

or can they be put on, and taken off my hand, and some tire irons?

thanks alot

ive gotten to the point to where i just take my tires into a shop and pay them $40 to do it for me(and i usualy NEVER bring my stuff to shops). i absolutely can not stand to replace innertubes or change tires on dirtbikes.

The best thing you can do to change tires on a bike is to go to a national or supercross and get a pit pass and watch a mechanic do a tire and rim. Take some visual notes or ask them a few tips then go home a try it a few times. I could do my old CR's rear tire in 11 minutes, take off swingarm tire tube install. Another good tip on tire changing is to take a thin strip of duct tape and run it aroun the rim where the spoke nipples enter and get rid of the rubber strip that never stays in place. It goes a long way to prevent flats. Also invest in some spoon type tire irons, they do make a difference.

taking it off is not the problem, it is getting it back on without pinching 20 holes in the tube and thrashing your tire bead

just use some big screwdrivers, i dont mind doing the bike tires, even though it tests my patients :grr:  , but i never attempted a quad tire, seems like it would be a reall pain

are you talkin about the your xr50's tires though. 'cause mini bike tires are a completly different story, they are like changing a bmx bike tire compared to the full size bikes :(
