hey im takin apart my engine and installing a wiseco 426 and a magnum stg 2 cam. I already have a K&N with outerwear lid and e-series exhaust. What should i be running for jetting and ne other little tips?

A 170 WOULD DO W/O THE CAM...BUT W/ THE CAM, I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD PUT IN A 175 OR POSSIBLY A 180

426 h-compression i would run 160 165 on race gas

Depends on your elevation and the temperture. Below 2000 feet in plesent riding weather I would *guess* somewhere around 175.

Thankfully it only takes a couple of minutes to change the main on a stock 400EX carb. So, experiment until you find what YOUR bike requires.

ok i got it on the main jet, what about the pilot and needle postion?

i am running a 178 main, with a 42 pilot in my 426, but need to go to a 45 pilot. the needle position is set a teh stock on right now, but you may be different. every motor is different even if they are built the same so the best we can do is give you a reference point, you have to fine tune it yourself. i would do atleast a 42 pilot and leave the need sock or possibly go down i position(raising the needle) and see what it does from there.

ok sounds good..by the way im now getting port and polish and a multiangle valve job on the head...any difference in jetting than a 175-180?
