what is the amount of oil recomended in a 400ex?

can you please tell me how many quarts or what is the exact recomended amount of oil? and where is the oil drain plug on it?

I run exactly 2 qts of oil in mine and it reads perfect and the oil drain plug is on the bottom of the oil tank, there is another drain by the left footpeg behind the shifter, and the oil filter is taken off on the right side of the motor just below the exhaust shield

thanks for your help. should i clean the oil filter when i take it off? or get a new one? how should i clean it if i do clean it?

When i change the oil i put in a new filter everytime. Plus its cheap, around $2 a filter.

Mine takes 2.2 qts to fill every time.
Never attemp to clean a paper oil filter.
