View Full Version : Getting a new 426kit, What Oil ?

I'll be getting my cylinder back from C&D Racing in about 1 - 2 weeks. I have a new oil filter so I figured I'd do an oil change when I finish installing everything.. I'm in NJ and I'm a weekend warrior. I'll probally only ride a couple times a month.

1) Can I use Mobil 1 right off the bat? or is there a break in period?

2) Do I just use regular Mobil 1 oil ? and is 10W-30 OK?

I'd recommend a 20w-50 synthetic oil. IF you run mobil 1 though it could cause your clutch to slip since they have friction modifiers in their new advanced oil. IF you have stiffer clutch springs then you'll be OK.

I run Amsoil 20w-50 and it has NO friction modifiers so it's OK to use with wet clutches.:macho
