Got it all together, please help

Just put my ex back together with a new bore in it...

took the choke off, drilled 6 holes in my airbox lid

and now when im ridin in a higher gear, and i hold the throttle in one spot it will bog on and off, the revs will go up and down.

Also, my engine now ticks like mad, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

did you install a diffrerent cam, if so that could cause the ticking. As for the other you may be bouncing off the rev limiter now ???

Sounds like your jetting is way off

Thanks, also guessing its lean now that i think of it, but its not the rev limiter cause this is happening at about half throttle.

did you reject you when put big bore in??

or did you reject it when you drilled holes in the airbox????

I didnt rejet, cause the quad was runnin waay too rich before and i thought that when it got bored out it would even itself out.

Guess not, but my quad has some weird carb kit in it and my mechanic didint know what to do because the normal jets dont fit in.

Weird carb kit?? Normal jets don't fit?? I don't like the sound of that.

is it possible that Edel Brock re-did your carb?? if so, there and no jets, just needles. however, im not sure how the edelbrock carb kit works on the stock carb. on my 440 edelbrock carb it had nothing but needles.. kinda off the wall, but it might help

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 400 WHEN I GOT FINISHED PUTTING IN MY 416cc KIT. IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS HITTING THE REV BOX AT HALF THROTTLE. IT IS A JETTING PROBLEM. BUT THAT DONT MAKE SINCE W/ YOUR CARB THOUGH. I PUT A 150 OR 155 JET IN MINE AND I HAVE THE AIRBOX LID JETS, BORE, AND K&N FILTER. SO WHEN YOU GET YOUR CARB PROBLEM FIXED YOU KNOW WHAT SIZE MAIN JET TO PUT IN IT

I bought this quad a year or so ago and im still finding random mods everywere, i really hate buying something someone else has tinkered with, nex quad HAS to be stock unless i know the person well.

Anyway, off topic, but i still dont know what brand or what is in it for the carb jets. My mechanic was confused as hell about it though. I mostly do all my own work but i just dont know what to do with this, i might have to just buy all new OEM parts for my carb and switch it back. :scary:

How much is it approx. for a FCR carb?? If its too much im screwed cause i have like 400 bucks CANADIAN.
