do u guys think it would be worth putting a hot cam or web cam stage 1 or 2 in my 2005 honda 400ex. i do not really have any engine mods, but would i be able to tell a noticable difference in power

I'd suggest putting in the Hotcams Stage 1, the Webcam i believe you have to use hardened rockers or it will tear up your valvetrain. I suggest the stage 1 because you wont loose any bottom end power. But id suggest atleast a K&N/UNI filter and a slip on exhaust later on to feel a good effect of the cam. The stage 2 would more than likely be overkill and a good loss of bottom end power on a stock engine.

Yeah, you might gain a little power but you probabley wont notice it unless you do a high comp piston, filter, and full exaust with the cam. If you want the full effect, go with a bigger carb and you will be riding a rocket at that point. Good Luck.

Hotcams actually recomends that you only use the stage 2 cam in big bore applications... Such as 426 or 440... On my first rebuild, I used the stage 2 hotcam, k&n filter, msd ignition, white bros pro meg exhaust, bored to a 406, and 11 to 1 compression... Honestly, I could tell a power loss on low end. I didn't go big enough on the bore or compression to compensate for the cam. I rode it like a 2 stroke. Go with a stage 1.
