Just stating the obvious....but you must definitely have it out for the 4 strokes. After reading your comments in the dyno thread and now this post it's clear you must have a chip on your shoulder towards the 450 guys. I personally don't see the big deal. But hey, whatever blows your skirt up.

With only a few posts I guess all of the 250r's really are has beens and the 450s are just too good and can't be beat by old crappy Honda technology.:D Does anybody disagree?

dude......i dont care what is on the market now, but old crappy honda technology?? WTF???? there is no quad on the market that will/would handle as good as the 250r right off the show room floor. the motor is a simple design to where a 3 year old could completely rebuild the whole thing. check the facts before you try to bash the old honda technology, cause it still kicks ***. ive ridden every honda,yamaha,kawi,suzuki,cannondale that has been produced since the 250rs and there is no comparison.

I have a 87r and a 06r and only enough room on the tailer for one this april to little sahara guess which one is staying home ?
the old 250r is warming the bench this spring and the 450r is going places. Ill never sell the 250r (ill need something to ride during upgrades or break downs)

I'm rolling the hybrid now still R geometry, But I think everyone knows the R carried us through the past ten years of racing, and without it this sport would have diminished. Fourstroke motor!!! R chassis! my choice but the new bikes are great too.

I got an old 250r frame at home that had a 350x in it. Im thinking of doing the yfz motor swap into that badboy. That would be pretty sweet

i still run a 250R motor in the r frame and banshee motor in a banshee frame...both stock frames, but not 100% stock motors and i have found a couple thatll run with the R in a drag...but not the banshee :D

trust me there are banshees that will destroy any R they drag against

Yeah I hear ya Beerock, I raced an 01 Banshee with Cool head, T5's, mild porting, etc. not too modded and actually beat it on my R. Then I raced a couple real modded out Banshees and got my *** handed to me!!!! I couldn't believe how fast some of those drag banshees were!!!!

There is a 500cc cylinder for the 250R that I guarantee nothing can touch besides Busa transplants or something crazy like that. You can't talk about aftermarket cylinders unless you're going to look at the ones on the other side too.

dude, dont you know im one of the loyalist honda guys out there? but fact is fact a properly worked banshee will kill a R even a sabertooth.

now reliability for a banshee is a different story

I also think that banshees can ourpower an R. They are also good for one thing, DRAGS. Thats why I love my R for what I do.

250-R-250, Well said, the banshees are an excellent dragger but the R can be built to excel at anything it gets thrown at including MX, XC, and dragging. You get the entire package with the R! Power and the best handling!!

Yeah I know. But I've never met someone with enough money to beat me ;) Anyway, even if they can manage to beat a 250R in a drag, that's the only thing they'll beat it in. The last time I rode a 'shee it handled so bad I almost puked.
