Dont let friends play with fire!!!

So I just got back from the Dunes in Coos Bay Oregon, it was a lot of fun, until monday nite when my friend decided to try to burn my quad down...

Basically 5 gallons of gas got ignited, my quad was 6-7' away from the flames and it melted the crap out of the plastic and the seat. So now he owes me some $$$ for new plastic. The moral of the story is dont park your bike to close to flames and dont let your friend play with gas and fire!

I would make him buy you whole new fenders and graphics and seat cover to match. Also say that it f-ed up your motor, so he will give you more money. That sucks though.

You serious? I was just kidding about the engine part, but if it was his fault for burning my seat cover, I would definitely make him pay for that, or at least half of it. Thats just me though.

i agree with him paying for the set and plastic but i didnt think u were kidding and if u wernt then i wouldnt agree with him paying more then he has to.

Yeah hes paying me for what stock replacement would be...I called the local honda shop and for the front and rear fender and side piece it wouls be $205, then another $50 for the seat cover....so I am going to put that money towards new plastic....Should I get fullbore or Maier....Im thinking all black plastic would look sweet...what do you all think??

It didnt ruin anything else but the fuel shut off valve got a little melted

Black would look pretty sweet, though I hear it shows scratches pretty bad. But I would go with gray or black. And possibly a white seat cover if you got black plastics. Just an idea though.

I was wondering if black would show the scratches bad or not...I think I am going with the Maier race cut plastics, and probably a black seat cover with a rebel flag on the side...not sure though yet...hes paying me on friday so I can start buying stuff then

i would go with silver marier race cut its what i have and i looks awsome and it dosent show cratches to bad.

My pick would be dark blue. But you probably don't want your 400ex to look like a Yamaho (thanks, Fast Enough). Black is pretty bad about showing scratches, but if you mainly ride sand, you would prob be OK. Orange is cool, but a lot of people have it.

Lol it would be mean if I was serious. But I probably would tell him that he F-ed up so much stuff, and make it sound serious so he gets all worked up, then just tell him you were playin. That would be pretty funny.

I like the look of fullbore and Im sure it is top quality but I am a broke college student, and I dont think I can afford fullbore, since im only making my friend pay me for what stock replacement would be, which is only 205 plus seat cover....that doesnt even buy a front fender of fullbore

i would just get the stockers and a after market seat cover

because you can get a aftermarket seat cover for less than 50 bucks and it will look better then stock

Or you could buy all of this stuff off of me for $225 shipped. Front, rear, OEM red tank cover, the graphics, and the seat cover......Its the old style maier matte black, so scratches do not show up all that well.

He wasnt that drunk...we had gone to the bar earlier that night but we weren't really drinking that much, he just wasnt thinking...keep in mind my quad was parked 7' away from the flames, so its not like he was trying to purposely melt my quad, he just wanted to get the fire going a little better.....and well he did
