i raced all last year witha stick damper, i didn't have any probs, but i did notice that it wants to fight you while turning...it has the same resistance each way you turn and would tire out my shoulders...now that i have the WER it's a world of difference!! it actually helps you return the wheel to center after and while turning...great damper

Depending on the riding you do a stick style will be fine.......I don't race and they work fine......If I were to start racing I would be using one of the new style dampners......but for the money and what you get out of them a stick type is a great investment....anything is better than getting the bars ripped outta your hands.....

i'll second what lonestar said...i just bought my second one from noss machine, i run one of theses on my wifes 400ex and it helps out enough for the agressive trail riding i do.

you can mount it either way, most people put it on the inside tho, as long as it has the right angle with the steering stem it is fine

as for what to get, if you want the best precision is the only way to go, but not everyone needs something that nice, but thats the only thing i would buy

yes yurik, and if you were sponsores by WER, they would be the best right? any damper is better than no damper.

wether precision sponsors me or not, they are still the best dampener on the market right now, we both know that

yes, any dampener is better then no dampener

buy a PEP & get the best of both worlds, no stick to break off when you poke a yamaha.

a PEP is only a 3 clicker isn't it? most of the others are 7......my Denton on my 250R is just about had it and it works fine....you can just keep turning them up when they start to wear out

kinda dumb question but idk ... wat does the steering damner do anyways????

basically it makes it so when a object tries to force your wheels one direction it dampens some of that energy so that your bars just dont fly that direction, they will barely move that way, or move much slower, making you be able to ride much faster without your bars jarring all over in rough terrain

pep has no clicker just a 3 way mount for the one end but if it does wear out they are rebuildable.
