has anybody done this yet i know that the 06 has a longer swingarm and a arms and suposodly better shocks.how do you think it would work on a 04r,would it be worth the effort, i know it would be cheaper than going with houser parts all around wich is what i was planning to do.the 04 r is 72.6 long and the 06 is 73.3 so thats alomost a 1 inch longer swinger right.

It's not worth the money you are going to spend in my opinion. Even though Honda made some changes to the rear end, I have heard that it still tends to buck. You would be better off saving your money and getting your stock shocks revalved by someone, and then buying a different linkage for the rearend.

yeah the rear end still sucks on the 06 and if you wanted the longer swingarm you would have to buy the 06 linkage set up and shock so it works.

Personally, using the '06 Swignarm, shock, and linkage on the '04/05 would be a good setup IF you have the shock revalved and go with an aftermarket linkage like GTT. I am guessing you can do this for around $600 and end up with a longer swingarm that is lighter than an aftermarket swingarm. I have been having a hard time finding an '06 swingarm though. For the front, not sure if there is any real advantages to using '06 parts.

Shawn,

Are you racing any GNCC's this year? If I find an '06 shock I may go ahead and switch. I'll decide after Steele Creek what I plan on doing.
