???Boring a stock 400 ex carb???

Has anyone ever bored a stock 400 ex carb? I have all of the equiptment to do it at work. How far can you bore it to and what does it do to the jetting?

Mine was bored out by sparks racing so I cant' realy tell you measurements. Anymore you can buy a 450R carb for less than what it cost to have the bore done.

I was thinking of buying a 450 r carb but I can do the boring myself so I would like to do that if it's possible.

hey, u can bore the carb out. it dpends wut year bike its off of tho. i think in 2000 or 2001 they went to the 38mm carb...thats wut i had and i had a frined bore out to 40....but becareful it get pretty thin. and you are gonna have to richen up ur jetting jsut abit possibly.
