i just ordered a hmf slip on for my 400 and i cant wait to get it on! but my question is i need to get jets for it but idk which ones to get,i allready have a K&N with the air box lid on,so what jets do you recommend? and do i have to adjust the needle? thnx for any help!

p.s. i called like 5 different places and they all told me differnt jets to run so thats why i am confused and postin this up here

if you leave the air lid on i would go to a 160 165. but i would recommend you take the lid off and run 175

when i had my z400 i had a hmf slip on white bros power filter and 1 two inch hole in lid i ran a 165 dyno jet in mine i think a 175 would be to bigg we are about 1175 ft here in ks.

i run no air box lid, uni filter, and a white bros slip on and i have a 175 main.

so you didnt have to adjust the needle? also does it make a differnce that i have a K&N and you had a white bros? i dont think it owuld cause that big off a differnce,thnx for all the help though

i talked to thr hmf guys and they said 145 main this doesnt seem right with what you guys are sayin so could someone please help me out here?

if u want max. performance go with the air box lid off.what type of jet kit is it.call them.hmf uses diiferent jet sizes if your using dyno jet.the sizes are different.

i prefer to leave my lid on,im goin to orde a jet direct from my dealer so them w/e then give me then,im not goin to use the dyno jet kit

there is a difference in the after market needles to.the taper for the bigger jets.

most likely is goin to be mikuni and i ride in alot of dusty areas so i would like to leave it on
