300ex Oil level ?

I just bought a 300ex (used) and it has a dip stick to check the oil level...

On my Honda Rancher... same set up.. you check the oil level by NOT screwing in the dip stick....

HOW do you check it on the 300ex? Screwed in, or not screwed in.?

I put 2 quarts in with filter change.. and it looks over filled.

its the same on the 300ex...you do NOT screw it in to check oil level

Also in the manual it says it holds 1.62 quarts of oil.
