I had my nerf bars powdercoated last year and it held up fine for a while but now they look like crap so I want to go back to the old look. How should I go about taking it off? Would it be easier to sand it off or use some kind of paint remover maybe??

Zip Strip or Aircraft stripper will loosen the pold powdercoat. Follow the directions on the can and follow all precautions. After its removed and washed, you can polish them or allow them to weather naturally.

heat em up with a torch and sometimes you can peel it off, but stripper is probably your best bet

I have heard that you can also burn off the powdercoat. They just put the part back into the oven and bake it at a hotter temp.Dont quote me on it because I just heard it, Pappy ??

You are correct, the industry standard is to have powder coat removed by the "burn off" process. basically an oven is set up to operate at 750 degress. After reaching this temp it remains there for up to 1 hour. All paint or powder is "burned off". After the temperature goes back to room temperature, the parts are sent thru a Media blasting process.
