what to get next...

If i have a 2004 400ex with a hmf slip on, & 416 engine (high compression piston). What would you recommend to get next to make it faster?

A filter,head pipe and jet kit.

Buy a HotCams Stg. II. For the $130, it will definately be the most power for the price you have done. Then I would send the HMF slipon back to HMF and have them convert it to a full system. Also a UNI filter and a jet kit would top it off well.

a good suspension will make a bike faster through the woods, but not in a drag race. Personally im always for upgrading suspension b4 engine mods.

i agree...
i used to think that suspansion made little difference, i alsays left it stock thinking it was good enough. then i rode a bike woth an aftermarket suspension...needless to say that my 400ex now has after market stuff and i don't think i am even going to add a pipe to the new 450r, but there willl be something done to the suspension.

i am including a steering stabilzer as a suspension component...i already have one on the new bike

if i get the hotcams will i have top resleeve anything though?

Hotcams are a direct drop in. For mods do as they say, if you dont want to convert the slip on to a full you can always buy a FMF Powerbomb header, it will fit your slip on. Don't forget about getting it ported and polished.
