View Full Version : bigger front sprocket, bigger chain???

rockymontain says for every tooth you add to your sprocket, you need to add 2 links to the chain. do you guys think you necessarily have to do this? i want to put a 14tooth front on my bros 350 raptor (he has a 13 now, which is stock) thanks for any help:)
i dont think you'd necessarily HAVE to...seems to me that you would be able to adjust it to fit just like you do to tighten it up but adding links may be the better idea, without them the chain might be to tight. i think you could get by without adding thinks though.

it wouldent hurt to add a link. but it should work

1st adjust the chain as loose as it will go. Then see if it has enough slack to accomodate your sprocket combination. If it won't fit, then add a link or two.
u shouldnt have to git a bigger chain just losen u may need a few extra links on hand but nuthin major

there is no need to add links if u dont need them once u adjust the slack
