Yfz 250

Has anyone heard about yamaha possible coming out with a YFZ250? I talked to a yamaha dealer employee at this weekends WORCS Lake Havasu race who told me that there are bringing it out to replaace the Blaster 200. He said it could either have a YZF250 engine in the blaster chassis or the same motor in the YFZ450 chassis.

makes sense because most four wheeler engines come from dirt bikes and the make a yzf 250

im not sure the 250f motor would be a good match for a quad chassis.in the bike you have to rev the piss out of them to get any power,not much torque.In a quad there would be kids trashing the motors like nobodys business.i would expect the more mild trail bike motor from the ttr 250.:)

they just wont use a bike motor they will make it a quad motor . they would need to have to put a counter balancer on it to have it a good quad motor.

dont racers slap them in the frames of other quads, and then like just destroy all teh 330s and such?? or am i wrong

imo it would be a waste of time, if any of yall on here have ever ridden a 250f, you know that its power to weight ratio compareable to the 450 quads. what im tring to say is, if you have to put a 450 motor in a quad chassis to get the same effect as a 250 motor in a dirt bike, the 250 motor will feel whimpy in the quad,and unless your a mini rider it is a waste of time.

if they do happen to make one, i doubt it will be a racing quad. probabbly more aimed at the z250 and the 250ex.

yeah id hafta agree wit that. it probly wont be so aggresive, but im sure they will make it to outperform the z and 250ex. itd also be sweet if they would make a 250 with a manual clutch

yes, and it really sucks ***. lol. that damn motor stock puts out more than my 330 does. Their are begging to be so many hybrids runnin around, it sucks......But i wouldnt say destroy ;) .lol. Ive pulled my fair hand of holeshots off of them, thyve just all been racin longer than me.

those motors already have counter balancers in them on the bike.You can expect some 250ex type playbike.auto clutch will be pretty much mandatory:(

i would wait to see one of these things in action before you say it is wimpy. The tourqe isnt all there, but they are quick as hell. And they rev soo much faster. They are very fast though.
