i usually wash my quad after every ride unless it is too dark and there is a brown substance on my exhaust pipe and it is really hard to wipe off. i notice that every quad gets this on their pipes after a while. does anyone know what that stuff is?

I'm pretty sure what your talking about is mostly just burt, caked on dirt and mud. It's hard to get off, but your best bet is steel wool, and simple green. or a new aluminum exhaust:devil:

id agree, but also make sure you let it cool off a little before washing it cause sometimes the water will turn hot metal a black or brown color. but im sure that your problem is just burnt mud.
