ok i just got a 440 kit with a stage 2 cam and when i read the on the instructions on the cam it says not to let it idle keep it above 3000rpms but i need to break it in so sould i break in the motr first then install the cam?? and i just have a t-4 pipe and no lid what main jet should i start with?? (dynojets) thanks

anyone ever break a motor in like that dont want to waste all the money i put into it

that is how i broke in all my motors. i rebuilt my old truck motor about a year and a half ago. 1992 GMC truckwith a 350 in it. i let it warm up, backed it out onto the road and layed it square on the floor right after i installed it. 15k later still runs great and doesnt smoke one bit.
my quad has had only 1 problem sincei havehad it and broke it in that way and that was a few blown headgaskets, which were in no way a result of the break in unless you consider the higher compression staying around after break in a side effect. if you search for that website, you will find alot of people suggest that way to break things in.

Break it in the way your going to ride it. How do you thing they break in drag cars??
