Chirping sound on 06 TRX

I just bought a new 06 450.When I fired it up to get it home I noticed a chirping sound when I hit the throttle.I dont know if you hear it when your cranking down the trail because I just got it last night.Anyone else notice this?

I think your hearing an exhaust noise - mine does it too and from what I hear all the 06 450R's do it... Maybe the new header on the HRC kit would help, but I run stock... As you say, sounds like a chirp or high-pitched rattle when you stab the gas...

I heard that Honda is throwing some money to people that complain about it to buy an aftermarket pipe... I haven't confirmed it and would be very surprised if they were...

it is the carb. if you listen to a yfz they do it also.

Yep,it is the slide in the carb making the chirp !! Nothing to worry about ..

You'll really notice it when you open up the airbox :D

Dude its the backpressure in the exhaust! All you have to do is take the spark arrester out of the exhaust so the bike can breathe a little and bam it does it no more. Plus you get a little more on the bottom end.

My 06 does it even more with the HRC kit!!!Its bad *** and sounds like a turbocharger!!!!Thats what real power sounds like!!!!!!LOL!!!!!

same here.. i was going crazy one day trying to figur it out sounds like it was coming from the front of the bike and whne i went riding the more i gave gas the more it would rattle/chirp/ lil whistle and i was like wtf 06 got a turbo!!!! lma0o i dunno what it is but annyoing but than again the power makes up for the stress. BY THE WAY GUYS WHAT IN THE CARB IS IT? THE SLIDE.. HOW CAN THAT BE.

I belive it's in the design of the intake system from carb to head. CRF's are the same way if you listen closely. I love the sound, nothing like it really :D

its definately not the backpressure or anything of that nature. I pulled out the baffle and noticed it a lot more when i had it still in. So im guessing its in the slide in the carb like you guys said.

mine does it too..just like gixxer said its just power..my 04 big dog does nthe same exact thing..it was kinda annoyin at firts but now I really like it alot..
