Well, Im tired of bending my shifter so I am getting an aftermarket one. My question is, should I get the MOOSE or the IMS?

I have a 99 300ex w/a 250r shifter ,k&n , t-4 pipe, on rear shreders , front itp hole shots

I wear riding boots and it wasn't easy with the stock shifter
so i found 250R stock shifter and had my budy cut my spline off mine and weld it on the 250R one if u r doing some thing like this it has to be meatl like stock a 400ex wil work also

i had the same problem with shifters bending during races. so after it screwed me over and over again i had a friend of mine who is an professional welder wled a strip of steel along the side of it. then i had it powdercoated. it is amazingly strong and it looks amazing. and the best part is it only cost me a case of beer.

you shouldnt really be bending shifters at all unless you ride and crash dirtbikes

Maybe we should get riding instructions to learn how to bend shifters.

Sorry, couldnt resist.

My shifter used to bend everytime I rode it.

I bent it once wnem I powerslid into a rut. Shoved my boot into it and wrapped it around my engine.. lol. Thank GOD I had on riding boots, or I would have had a hole in my leg. Had a hell of a bruise though, lol.

I took it home heated it up with a torch, and bent it back, then dropped it onto cold water to harden it. Being a very mild steel it was still weakened though... and every time I rode it it would work it's way back toward the engine with each shift. I'd have to pull it back into place every time I'd pit, or every hour of so of hard riding.

To fix this, I took a grinder to the back side of the shifter (engine side), and ground a small groove up the length of the shifter. Then I welded a bead down the groove (welds are very stiff). It has never rebent.

i bend it the way the Bwamos explained how it works its way towards the engine. I first heated it to bend it out and it bends back after every ride.

Then i would definitely go with IMS bro.
