the carb on my buddy's 400ex just keeps pouring gas out the overflow, i figured it was the floats, does anyone know how to remove the pin that holds the float on? and also do you think it is the floats or can anything else make this happen? thanks

The pin should slide out once the float bowl is removed. The sides/shape of the float bowl keep the pin from walking out on its own.

the pin was frozen into the carb. in the process of removing the pin with pliers I broke one of the pieces the pin goes through to hold the float on, would it work ok with just one side still on>? thanks

I doubt the float would work right with only one "arm". I'd try JB Welding it back on or just buy another carb on E-bay (stock 400EX carbs are pretty cheap).

yup, definetly need a new carb, i am going to try to find a cheap 450r carb and give him my 400ex carb, and if not then i will just get a cheap 400ex carb to replace it. so anyone with a 450r carb thats just collecting dust and wants to sell it cheap let me know!! thanks
