im 14 and i have been riding for 7 years now, i never rode a manual bike, i have ridden the same quad(trailsboss 250) n its auto, but i need a better quad n i was looking at the z400, i can keep up with a raptor 350 but once we hit the straight away they r gone. Do u think i would be able to handle a 400? thanks, Joe

i started riding my dads z400 when i was 14 and it has motor mods so it is even more powerful. i think it was one of the scarest time riding it was when the rear shock was blown and it was just spring. :scary:

i boughtt my kfx when i was 14 and i already could drive a stick (ive got a 4-speed dune buggy) but i had a 250ex b4 that. it took a lil bit to get used to the amazing power that the kfxs enigne puts out compared to the 250. i had ridden my cousins 400ex b4 that too. the clutch is really easy to work on a fourwheeler

You could get a Z-400 or 400ex, but if your comming from a 250 polaris it may not hurt to move up to a 400 Scrambler. I had one for a while and loved it. I could keep up with everyone in the woods and while it wasn't the quickest in a drag race it was fun. Anyways that's what i had before i got my KFX and i think was a good more up from my fisrt quad.

i dont agree with that. you should definitly get a z400 or 400ex. if your 14 now you will regret gettin a polaris when ur 15 or 16. and also automatics are boring..shifting it the best part. your going to want something faster then that.

Id have to agree with jared you exp enough to handle it you dont have to go fast u know what the gas does its not like your going to say ohh whats this do VROOOOM. I made the mistake of gettin a z250 i was perfect for it at the time but out grew it very fast and now its long gone but thats besides the point. Get the z or ex you will be happy

the 400ex is more reliable but the z400 is liquid cooled and it has reverse. the z is faster then the ex but only by 2mph so that doesnt really make a difference. but if your going to be riding trail alot reverse will come in handy instead on getting off and pulling your quad. its really up to you.

Good luck with it, I stayed away from the EX just because of no reverse in it's earlier years, then fell in love with my orange KFX.
